The Spanish Cuisine El Aroma

FOOD

I love food. Everything about it. The flavors, the textures, the colors. The way food brings people together and puts a smile on their faces. Eating and cooking is my hobby; my passion. Food is an amazing thing and I am still discovering its possibilities. Thus, my friend and I are planning on going for food hunting at KL Pavilion to search for delicious delicacies this coming weekend. I would be delighted if you would share this journey with me.

Let the Journey Begin!!!

Malaysia is a country which has a well-developed public transportation system around the city. There are several ways of travelling to Pavilion. You can travel to Pavilion by Bus, KTM, MRT and personal car. I travel to pavilion by MRT Rapid KL from MRT Kajang to Bukit Bintang station.

Other ways of getting to Pavilion from Kajang.

Below are few option of getting to Pavilion from Kajang :

  1. Kajang —-> (take bus) to Pavilion  [1 hours 30 mins without traffic, approximately RM5- RM15)
  2. Kajang KTM station —-> (take ktm) to KL Sentral —-> (exchange to MRT from Muzium Negara MRT station) to Bukit Bintang MRT Station —-> Exit D —-> Pavilion [1hour , approximately RM5to RM8)
  3. Kajang MRT station —> (take MRT) to Bukit Bintang MRT Station —-> Exit D —-> Pavilion [50 minutes, approximately RM4 to RM5)
  4. Grab Car (you can experience the grab car option if you are looking for a comfortable and convenient option for going to pavilion by ordering the grab car by using the grab application) [ 40 minutes, approximately RM30- RM40 (depends on the distance)]

Option 1 ( By Bus)

Below shows the details of taking bus to Pavilion bus and timetable from Kajang. You can have a few option depends on your final destination.

  1. Stadium Kajang —-> wait for Lebuh Pudu BUS 452 —-> Had Lebuh Pudu(LP) —->Walk to Maybank Bangunan wait for GOKL(Had Pasar Seni at Bukit Bintang) —-> Starhill Gallery —-> Walk to Pavilion

Option 2( By Ktm and exchange station to MRT at Kl Sentral to Pavilion)

Taking KTM to Kl Sentral and exchange station to MRT at Kl Sentral to Pavilion by boarding the KTM Komuter at Kajang KTM station. You will need either a token, Touch & Go or KTM card to enter the entrance gate which u can purchase the token by the automation machine with approximately RM4 to Kl Sentral, purchasing the KTM Card by the counter by reloading an amount into it(the card is free) and enter   the entrance or using Touch n Go. The benefits of owning a KTM card and Touch&Go card is because both of this card pay lesser compare to the use of token and you do not have to waste time queuing.

Option 3 (MRT Rapid KL)

MRT Rapid KL is the latest public transportation in Malaysia which I personally recommend the most within all the transportation because it provides comfortable and affordable price. MRT Rapid KL is mainly travel around the capital of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur that you can enjoy the beautiful view of Kuala Lumpur when you are travelling with MRT.

You may have to purchase a token by the automation machine to enter the entrance gate or by using a Touch n Go card. The token cost around RM4 from the distance of Kajang MRT Station to Bukit Bintang Station(Walk to Pavilion after exit) same price as for Touch n Go. You do not really need a timetable for MRT Rapid KL as the time between each train will be approximately 5mins where you can check it on the particular station monitor.

pavillion

Pavilion KL entrance

As we arrive at Pavilion by 1pm , we started looking for delicious delicacies that we have never tasted before. Going floor by floor ,shop by shop, after 30mins to 1 hour of survey, my friend and I were attracted by an Spanish restaurant called “El-iberico”.

Eliberico

El-Iberico Restaurant

El Iberico is a casual table-service restaurant that specializes in Iberico “Black Pig” Pork. The pork is fully imported from the gastronomy of Spain’s Iberian Peninsula. The superb quality of the meat is controlled by the climate, their freedom to roam outdoors and their acorns diet which gives the meat a wonderful nutty flavor.

TO START

For the entrée (or starter for Americans) I ordered the grilled pork skewer and toasted baguette. This grilled pork skewer featured the most delicious pork skewer I have ever eaten. They were freshly grilled, coated with bell-pepper and toasted baguette topped with herb mixed roasted bell-pepper which it was very juicy.

THE MAIN EVENT

For my main, I chose the Grilled Slipper Lobster with mixed vegetables, a Spanish style of grilled lobster dish served with mixed vegetables. I’m not the biggest seafood-eater, to be honest, but it was fork-tender and just perfect. I fell apart as I taste it as it was flavorful with the freshness of lobster inside my mouth. As one of the heavier dishes on the menu, there was ample to share and we polished it off.

SWEET TREATS

I have a huge sweet tooth – so I ordered a dessert. I tried the fruity pavlova, a few level of baked biscuit covered with a light and dreamy custard known as crème anglaise (or English cream) and mixed fruits with it. The dish was quite dense, but the juicy of fruits balanced it out and I was surprised how easily i finished it.

Free Dessert

As we were about to leave, the owner treated us with a daily dessert – Classic Tiramisu -. The rich flavour of coffee in it melted all the stress within me right away when I tasted it. It is a splendid dessert that I highly recommended.

My Verdict

The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced – the quality and the taste of the food was just out of this world… from “the starter” with light pork skewer, then my Lobster….and end with a creamy Tiramisu. Everything was perfect and simple, I have dreamed about it during the night so juicy and tasty it was. The fixed price for a set menu is RM62.80, RM68.80 and RM72.80 respectively, drinks are not included but can be added. The total bill for both of us was under RM150. All of the ingredients were carefully sourced and the vision of the chef was present on every single plate. It is an ideal place to look for gathering with friends or family weekend dinner.
